The Western Regional Command of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has commenced a series of drug education and sensitization programme targeted toward fresh students who have just begun their Senior High School (SHS) journey.
Recognizing that Senior High School years are a critical stage, the Command is taking proactive measures to ensure students are equipped with accurate information to guide responsible decision making as they adjust to a new environment.
The engagement with Diabene Senior High school seeks to raise awareness of the dangers of drug use, the influence of peer pressure, and the importance of protecting their health, education, and future aspirations.
By reaching students at this formative stage, the Commission aims to strengthen their resilience against negative influences and encourage healthy, purposeful living.
Through these sensitisation programmes, the Western Regional Command is reinforcing its commitment to early prevention rather than waiting to address the consequences of drug use.
The initiative will continue across educational institutions in the region, fostering collaboration with school authorities and other stakeholders to promote a safer and healthier learning environment
