Kofi Ababio and Sons’ Company Ltd have donated assorted sanitary supplies and a cheque to the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) in support of activities marking this year’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, also known as World Drug Day.

The donation, presented on behalf of the company on Thursday June 4, 2026 by its Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Manager, Mr. Mumuni Fatau, included 15 boxes of Crystal Clear Liquid Soap, five gallons of antiseptic, and a cheque donation of GH¢10,000.

Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Fatau noted that the donation forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts and its commitment to supporting institutions working to create healthier and safer communities.

He commended NACOC for its continuous efforts in combating drug abuse and illicit trafficking across the country, emphasizing that the fight against substance abuse requires collective action from both public and private sector stakeholders.

“Drug abuse remains a major challenge affecting individuals, families, and communities. As a responsible corporate organization, we believe it is important to support NACOC in its efforts to raise awareness and educate the public on the dangers of illicit drug use,” Mr. Fatau stated.

Receiving the items on behalf of NACOC, Deputy Director-General in-charge of Enforcement, Control and Elimination, Lawyer Alexander Twum-Barimah expressed appreciation to Kofi Ababio and Sons for the timely support.

He described the donation as a significant contribution toward the successful organization of activities planned for the commemoration of World Drug Day.

He further encouraged other corporate institutions and individuals to emulate the gesture and support the national campaign against drug abuse and trafficking.

World Drug Day is observed annually on June 26 to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a world free of drug abuse. The day serves as a platform to increase awareness about the harmful effects of illicit drugs and to promote preventive measures, treatment, and rehabilitation initiatives.

Kofi Ababio and Sons’ contribution is expected to support NACOC’s outreach and awareness activities as stakeholders across the country join efforts to promote a drug-free society.
