The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has intensified its fight against illicit drug activities with a successful operation around the Kanda Central Mosque in Accra.

The agency arrested three suspects believed to be engaged in the sale and distribution of narcotic drugs in the area.

According to officials, the raid was part of an ongoing effort to dismantle drug dens that pose a growing threat to public safety and youth welfare in the capital.

In a related development, NACOC, in collaboration with the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, intercepted 84 bags of dried cannabis during a joint operation.

The contraband, concealed in a shipment, was seized following intelligence-led investigations at one of the country’s entry points.

Authorities indicated that the haul demonstrates the effectiveness of strengthened inter-agency cooperation in combating the trafficking of illicit substances.

NACOC reiterates its commitment to safeguarding communities from the dangers of narcotic drugs and called on the public to assist with credible information on drug-related activities.

The Commission emphasized that it will continue to work closely with security agencies to ensure that those involved in the illegal drug trade face the full rigours of the law.
