The Director General of the Narcotics Control Commission Brig Gen Maxwell Obuba Mantey has assured of strengthening a consistent working partnership with the Inspector General’s Department (IGD) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
The ties, according to him, will help both institutions share ideas and understudy each other, relating to upholding professionalism and discipline in the dispensation of their mandate.
Brig Gen Mantey made this remarks when the Director-General Brig Gen Augustine Asiedu, together with his team, paid a courtsey call on him on Thursday, 29 October 2025.
“NACOC Management avails itself to opportunities that will help our officers access some of the best practices in line with their duties and personal lives,” he indicated.
He added that the Commission is committed to upholding professionalism and integrity in the discharge of its mandate, hence the need to collaborate with relevant agencies to achieve its focus.
He explained that the visit would enable IGD to understand the operations of NACOC to promote inter-agency cooperation, efficiency, and professionalism within both institutions.
” The drug trafficking war requires dedication and passion in dealing with it, and management is ready in sustaining the good momentum.” He added.
On his part, Brig Gen Augustine Asiedu, Director-General of the Inspector General’s Department (IGD) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), lauded the resilience and teamwork abilities of management in fighting the drug trafficking and abuse menace.
He added that his outfit will ensure to strengthen the working bond between the two institutions.
The Deputy Director-General, Lawyer Alexander Twum-Barimah, assured that NACOC will continue to deliver on its mandate to help the country become a drug-free nation.
He commended the Ghana Armed Forces for the well-thought operational strategies mainly to collaborate with NACOC to help combat the menace.
“We are committed to avenues that will enhance the capacities of our staff,” he added.
