The management of the National Investment Bank, NIB PLC, donated a cheque with a sum of one hundred thousand cedis (GHS 100,000.00) and fifty desktop computers to the Narcotics Control Commission at its headquarters on Friday, October 17, 2025.

The gesture is part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to support and enhance the Commission’s operations, particularly the demand reduction campaign aimed at highlighting the consequences and dangers of drug addiction among youngsters.

Speaking at the presentation, Ms Ernestina Kutin, Chief Human Resources Officer of the bank, who donated on behalf of the Managing Director, Chief Dr Doli-Wura Zakaria, stated that her brand believes and appreciates the Commission’s operational output in combating the illicit drug abuse and trafficking menace, and that the gesture was primarily intended to encourage management and staff to continue their good work.

She also stated that her bank is committed to collaborating with agencies dedicated to protecting the safety and well-being of its citizens.

“We believe the support offered to the management of NACOC will go a long way to enhance and promote the advocacy strategies of reaching out to the public on the dangers and effects of drug abuse.” Ms Kutin emphasised.

She invited other corporations to consider sponsoring such humanitarian efforts to protect Ghanaians’ lives and safety.

Brig Gen Maxwell Obuba Mantey, Director-General of NACOC, praised the National Investment Bank (NIB) PLC’s Board and Management for their timely assistance to the Commission

“We have opened district offices across the country, and the computers donated will assist and enhance the effectiveness of our officers.

This donation will help strengthen the activities of our men and women at the regional and district levels, and we are grateful for the support.”

Brig Gen Mantey advised parents to ensure that their children do not engage in any acts that risk their future aspirations and to invest in their children’s education and vocations of choice.
