The Narcotics Control Commission, led by the Director-General, Brig Gen Maxwell Obuba Mantey, has signed books of condolences for some of the victims of the August 6, 2025, plane crash, leading to the death of all passengers in the Ashanti Region.

The message, as conveyed by the Director-General on behalf of the entire staff and management of NACOC, was to console and express his sympathy to all those people who lost their loved ones in the accident.

The agencies he visited and signed the book of condolence include the Ministry of Defence, the Environment, Science and Technology, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).

The signing took place on Wednesday, August 13, and Thursday, August 14, 2025.

He was accompanied by some key management members, including the Deputy Director-General in charge of Enforcement, Control, and Elimination, Mr Alexander Twum-Berimah, and the Deputy Director-General in charge of General Service, Mr Stephen Yeboah.

Brig Gen Mantey, Director-General, NACOC, in his message, expressed condolences and sympathy to all those who lost their close ones in the unfortunate plane disaster.

The Deputy Minister of Defence, Hon Brogya Genfi, thanked the NACOC delegation for their concern to empathise with the management and entire staff of the ministry, stating that the loss was indeed difficult for the nation to comprehend.

He thanked the Director-General and his team for their show of support, noting that the loss has been difficult for both Ministry’s staff and management.
