The Narcotics Control Commission has destroyed some assorted seized narcotic drugs at the Battle Training Camp-Bundase in the Greater Accra Region.

The seized drugs included 1.5kg of cocaine, 6,513kg of cannabis and 5,928,000 capsules of tramadol.

The destroyed drugs are estimated at GH¢12,655,784.96.

The Director-General of NACOC Brig Gen Maxwell Obuba Mantey stated that the Commission is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of Ghanaians.

This, he stressed, is paramount to the Commission.

He added that the Commission will not renege on its mandate to clamp down on persons noted to be involved in all forms of illicit drug trafficking activities.

Brig Gen Mantey further warned that NACOC’s radial is on people who are involved in the illicit drug trade.

He assured that NACOC is committed to ensuring that Ghana becomes a drug-free country.

The Deputy Director-General in charge of Enforcement, Control and Elimination, Lawyer Alexander Twum-Barimah cautioned that the Commission will not condone or shield any person who goes against the law.

He stressed that the Commission will ensure that persons found culpable of the law are dealt with, without fear or favour.
