The Narcotics Control Commission on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, held a passing out ceremony for 307 recruits at Nutekpor in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region.
The recruits comprise of one hundred and eighty-three males and one hundred and twenty-four being females.
The ceremony was aimed at officially inducting the recruits into the establishment of the Commission.
The recruits were taken through a six month intensive training course in intelligence gathering, surveillance, profiling, weapon handling and narcotic drugs management.
In his keynote address, the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, who was the reviewing officer, commended the graduands for their comportment and discipline during the period.
He charged the graduating recruits to remain steadfast in their mission to protect the country from the scourge of illicit drugs and emphasized that the recruits’ badge is a stewardship of hope and should never be used as a ticket for impunity.
He underscored the need for a significant milestone for Ghana’s fight against illicit drugs.
Hon. Muntaka admonished officers to adhere to the tenets of the Commission and remain focused on the daily duties as officers.
He urged management of the Commission to remain steadfast in the fight against illicit drug trafficking and abuse as the government is also committed to supporting in all endeavours to enable them to achieve their desired positive outcomes.
