The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in two successful operations, arrested and detained four persons at Kotoka International Airport for aiding and abetting drug trafficking.

The exercise was part of officers of the Commission normal procedure and acting on intelligence, led to the apprehension of a British passenger who was on-board British Airways BA 2066 from Kotoka, Accra to Gatwick in the United Kingdom.

The suspect, Brown-Frater Chyna Jada, aged 23, was approached by Commission officers as part of a profiling exercise.

Checks on her travel luggage discovered thirty-two (32) slabs of substances suspected to be a narcotic drug. A field test proved positive for cannabis with a weight of 17.72 kilogrammes.

The suspect was arrested and will be prosecuted in court.

On the same day, officers arrested three people, including a British national named Owusu Williams Christian, 19, who was on board Emirates Flight EK 787 from Dubai.

He had, in his possession, two suitcases containing ninety-two (92) slabs of substances suspected to be narcotic drugs.

A field test on the substances yielded a positive result for cannabis, weighing 53.60kg.
Two other suspects who were assisting the primary suspect, Williams Christian Owusu, were identified and detained.

Further investigation is ongoing.

NACOC remains resolute and committed to the fight against drug trafficking and usage in the country.
