
The Director-General of NACOC, Brig. Gen. Maxwell O. Mantey has called for a closer working collaboration between the Narcotics Control Commission and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority for the safety and security of all Ghanaians.
He stressed that it is incumbent on the two institutions to collaborate, share ideas, and intelligence to outwit criminals who want to use Ghana as a transit point for narcotic drugs. We have to work together for the sake of mother Ghana.
Brig. Gen. Mantey, made the call when he paid a courtesy call on the Director-General, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur, to introduce himself as the new Director- General, NACOC, and seek closer collaboration for a common goal. He informed Rev. Arthur, that there will be a change in the operations of NACOC in line with the reset agenda by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
Rev. Arthur, on his part expressed delight by the visit and assured Brig. Gen. Mantey on GCAA’s readiness to work with NACOC to achieve a common goal of making the airport environment secure and safer for airline operators and their passengers.
He said the goal can be achieved when the two institutions find appropriate approach of sharing information and intelligence that will aid in airline operations.
Rev. Arthur, indicated the need to have a regular joint public education to sensitise and educate the general public on the operations of the two institutions.
